Position Summary:

We are seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our team. The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the creation and implementation of all marketing communications for the company consistent with company strategy. The Marketing Coordinator will create sales tools, literature, press releases, brand awareness, and web content. This role will also be responsible for assisting with trade shows and should be able to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the company globally.

Qualified candidates should have a bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of relevant experience. Qualified candidates should also have strong communication skills, basic graphic design skills, close attention to detail, and a positive attitude. Photography skills are desired, but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Communications
    Communicates information regarding tradeshows, showrooms, and other marketing updates globally. Utilizes email, yammer, weekly conference calls, and creates postings for internal office use to ensure sharing of information.
  • Graphics Design -marketing communications
    Utilizes and leverages collaborative tools and graphic design software, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Publisher, to accomplish marketing communications objectives.
  • Marketing Communication Development
    Provides hands-on involvement in the implementation, creation and development of sales tools, literature, press releases, brand awareness, and web content. Creates bulletins to communicate key product information and marketing strategies across channels.
  • Product Life Cycle
    Collaborates with PMC to manage product inflow and closeouts/sunsets to ensure products are maintained over the appropriate timeframe.
  • Plush & Toy Trend Analysis
    Reviews plush and toy trends to ensure we are up-to-date on price points, future trends, and current/upcoming events to drive product decisions. Communicates trends to other departments, including planning, to ensure forecasting matches trends.
  • Budgeting and Cost Awareness
    Creates and adheres to realistic budgets in a manner that helps achieve the organization's objectives. Tracks expenses against the budget frequently enough to make adjustments at the optimum time. Cost-conscious and tends to stay within budget.
  • Assist Other Departments
    Assists other departments as needed and completes other duties as may be assigned to contribute to the efforts of the team.
  • Interdepartmental Communication
    Partners with cross-functional departments and teams to ensure customer needs are met, issues are resolved promptly, and to contribute to overall success for the business.
  • Product Knowledge
    Develops strong knowledge of current products and keeps knowledge up-to-date.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Communication skills
    Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to use proper grammar and punctuation, to communicate with internal and external customers. Capable of adapting communication style to audience.
  • Computer Skills
    Strong proficiency in Microsoft office suite, including Microsoft Publisher, as well as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. Strong capabilities with both Mac and PC.
  • Graphic Design skills
    Has basic graphic design skills and can contribute to graphic design projects as needed.
  • Photography skills
    Uses photography skills to contribute to marketing communications, catalogs, and other projects as needed.

    Investigates all viable options, along with the potential consequences of each, and then makes timely decisions. Can direct a group through this process and does not hesitate to make difficult decisions.

Required Education / Experience / Specific Job-related Skills

Years of Experience:

1 to 2 years of related marketing and graphics experience.

Education may count in place of required experience level.


Bachelor's degree in marketing or communication or related field required. 

Experience may count in place of required education level.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires frequently sitting, occasionally standing and walking, and occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds. The position also requires manual dexterity and normal or corrected vision to operate a computer in the course of work.
