(Cleveland-OH) Every child hopes to receive a present during the holidays—especially those spending them in or at the hospital. Thanks to the generosity of Twinsburg, OH toymaker, Wild Republic, 300 pediatric patients at Cleveland Clinic Children’s got the gift of a warm and cuddly stuffed animal this past holiday season.
“There’s something special about getting a stuffed animal versus other gifts,” says Vishnu Chandran, President of K&M International, the parent company of Wild Republic. “Children form an emotional bond with it. The stuffed animal becomes a friend and a playmate. That’s why many years after receiving them you’ll see the stuffed animals still sitting on their beds.”
“Donations like these can help brighten the days of our young patients, especially those who will be in the hospital for the holidays,” said Giovanni Piedimonte, M.D., Chair of Cleveland Clinic Children’s.
“We feel very fortunate that Cleveland Clinic Children’s enabled us to get involved with them over the holidays,” says Chandran. “Helping a child who is in the hospital feel a little better is what the season is all about. We hope that Wild Republic was able to brighten up some boys’ and girls’ lives.”
